UK DIT DSO TO PARTICIPATE AT BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW12 Sep 2017
The Department for International Trade Defense and Security Organisation (DIT DSO) will participate in the forthcoming show of the Bahrain International Airshow, organisers of the show announced today after a signing ceremony held at DSEI.
The show, which takes place from 14th-16th November 2018, will feature a special area promoting British defence and security products to the Middle East market alongside BAE Systems and ADS Group which will be hosting a UK Pavilion for SME businesses.
The Bahrain Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, HE Engineer Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, who was attending DSEI said, “We are delighted to see the British Government supporting UK business in Bahrain. Our nations have longstanding ties in aviation, trade, military cooperation and investment, particularly due to the Kingdom’s strategic location, economic readiness and advanced infrastructure and making use of the UK aviation industry’s technological capabilities and aircraft. We look forward to seeing many of the capabilities on show here at DSEI exhibiting at BIAS next year.”
Speaking at a recent industry event, Stephen Phipson, Head DIT DSO said, "The show presents a great opportunity for the UK and Bahrain to showcase how we already work together and promote future collaboration and trade. It gives businesses from across aerospace industries the opportunity to exhibit their products in world class facilities and offers the perfect networking opportunity for senior industry players and international delegations. I expect BIAS18 to be one of the priority events in our overseas calendar for next year and we will work with UK Government, Farnborough International and wider Industry to ensure we make the most of this fantastic event.”
The Bahrain International Airshow is the fastest growing airshow in the Middle East. The 2018 edition of the show will be its biggest yet with a larger exhibition hall and increased networking opportunities. Chalet and exhibition space is mostly already sold, following recent signings with Airbus Group, Bell Helicopters, Boeing, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Otokar Sky Prime Aviation, Roketsan, Thales and Turkish Aerospace Industries, Thales and UTC Aerospace Sytems, and more companies expected to confirm their participation in the coming months.
In 2016, BIAS also saw a number of international defence businesses participating at the show as well as attendance from 33 Military delegations from 19 countries. The Manama Air Power Symposium will once again be taking place the day before the show, bringing senior government and defence official and leading industry partners from GCC and around the world to the show.
