BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW 2016 BOOSTS MILITARY DELEGATION PROGRAMME15 Jun 2015
Manama Air Power Symposium (MAPS) to Pre-curser Leading Aviation Event
At the International Paris Airshow today, Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) organisers today confirmed that the Air Force chiefs invited to the Manama Air Power Symposium will also attend the Bahrain International Airshow as part of the show’s extensive official military delegations programme.
The Symposium, which has been strategically timed to pre-curser BIAS, will take place on 20th January 2016 - the day before the start of BIAS 2016. Organised by Inegma, the event would see invited speakers and panels from Chiefs of Air Forces from over 20 countries in the MENA region and other key locations coming together to discuss the leading issues of the day. "The Manama Air Power Symposium (MAPS) will be a highly important event taking place at a critical period in the region. It will provide an opportunity for senior commanders of allied air forces to meet and exchange views on tactics and strategies to combat terrorism and deal with modern-day threats,” said Riad Kahwaji, Inegma CEO.
Speaking about the symposium, His Excellency Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications for the Kingdom of Bahrain and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for BIAS said, “We are delighted to host the Chiefs of Air Forces to the Kingdom and the Bahrain International Airshow. With the Kingdom’s airport expansion programme, modern sea port in operation and improved roads links to Saudi Arabia, it is a prime time for Bahrain’s transportation industry and as an established hub in the region, it is fitting for us to host the Manama Air Power Symposium.”
Riad Kahwaji, further added, "MAPS will be an open forum to discuss new technologies to enhance air operations and talk about future aviation technology. Bahrain is a vital partner with an important role in safeguarding regional security and hence is an ideal venue to host strategic events like BIAS and MAPS. I am delighted to be working closely with RBAF, the Bahrain Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Farnborough International team to put on a successful conference."
Amanda Stainer, Commercial Director for Farnborough International Ltd, also commented: “This announcement is great news for participants at BIAS and will bolster the events already strong military delegations programme. With the addition of The Future of Air Transport in the 21st Century conference and the Hosted-Buyer at the show, BIAS will offer all its participants excellent networking opportunities.”
