Hosted at the Sakhir Airbase in a purpose-built aviation arena, the second Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) is being organised through the continuing partnership of Civil Aviation Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain and UK exhibitions organiser, Farnborough International Ltd.
BIAS 2012 will take place from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 January 2012.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has a long and historic association with aviation. Responsible for both the region’s first international carrier as well as the Gulf’s first international aviation hub, the airshow underlines why Bahrain remains a regional leader in the aviation sector.
The inaugural Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS), held in January 2010, was a tremendous success, not only for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the global aerospace community, but also particularly for the participating exhibitors, delegations and visitors. The event hosted 40 exhibitors, 94 aircraft and visiting delegations from 25 countries; resulting in $1bn worth of deals struck over the show’s three days.
The second Bahrain International Airshow in 2012 will continue to remove the limitations associated with traditional air shows, due to its unique location and bespoke facilities. Direct chalet and apron front positioning, on-the-spot aircraft demonstrations and customer test-flights and the ability to demonstrate UAS will all remain key features, as will direct access to buyers and decision makers from visiting international delegations. Infrastructure and facilities will continue to evolve to maintain the individuality and high standards that have already become hallmarks of the BIAS experience.
